Planning permission for the construction of a new ophthalmology outpatients department (eye clinic) on a brown field site adjacent the existing breast check on infirmary road. The previously approved planning permission (15/36359) relates to the provision and centralisation of these services. The development consist of the following: Demolition of existing boundary walls and fencing bounding the site, demolition of the accessible ramp to Breast Check, construction of a new 1-3 storey building with stepped access from infirmary road, construction of a new realigned access ramp serving both the new OPD and breast check, realignment of the existing footpath & cycleway to provide set down for taxis and public vehicles and all associated site works. The existing hospital complex includes protected structures PS 248 (South Infirmary), PS 824 (Rocksavage structure), PS 1002 (post box). The proposed development does not include any works to these structures.
