The development will consist of extensions and alterations to the existing 53-bed Nursing Home/Residential Retirement Complex and 12 no. detached sheltered houses. The extensions will comprise residential and ancillary accommodation for an additional 32 persons in a single and two storey building of 1,766 sq.m., with solar panels on its roof, plus additional plant area of 53 sq.m., extended laundry (22 sq.m.), conversion of part of the existing attic area (42 sq.m.) to use as a staff changing area, and the provision of enclosed walkways to connect the houses to the main complex (136 sq.m.). The revised total area of the complex, which will accommodate 121 residents, is now 4,487 sq.m. The existing houses are being adapted, including external modifications, for their inclusion as bedroom accommodation within the Nursing Home. The development is to include the provision of an additional effluent treatment plant and percolation area to complement the existing plant, revised vehicular circulation and car parking, to comprise 7 no. additional spaces (43 no. total) and landscaped external communal areas. The development also includes an open canopy at the entrance, permitted under permission Reg. Ref. No. F00A/0636), but not constructed.
